RID& what we've been doing

Here's a couple of pics from Monday nights
Robots in Disguise gig. We saw them at the Roadhouse
a while ago, they definately benefited from a better
sound system this time around, and being an all ages gig,
there was alot more energy from the crowd which always helps.

This week Angie has been making loads more slip dresses
which will be out at the Fashion Market this Saturday, we
should also have our new photo t's on sale this weekend.
More about those tomorrow.
We've just started designing our new collection, well not
so much designing as trying to work out what we're doing!!!
This time we're going to be doing more cut & sew stuff
so it won't just be straightforward t's and sweats.

Hello to everyone who went to the gig, we'll post

Apologies to anyone who went down to TV21 on
Monday to look for our pop up fashion stall, the
venue wasn't open when we turned up and no one
phoned us, don't worry though the Me&Yu
pop-up stall will be appearing in other places
very soon.

New Menswear

We're only human!!!!

We’re Only Human - Not Robots
Here at Me&Yu we'd like to think we're superhuman - we work all night and day to make lovely clothes and have spread a little Me&Yu love around the world.
The last few months have been very hard work - but we have done rather a lot........
In January we designed and made our lovely new collection all about futuristic fantasies and nightmares (with lots of monsters). Around this time things were looking a bit bleak wih Afflecks so we got involved in lots of publicity to try and raise awareness to keep Afflecks open (which worked - YAY!)
February saw us going to to Berlin to show our collection to buyers frm shops around the world. When we got back we opened the Bespoke Boutique on Lever Street, launched our new collection and made lots of clothes to send to other shops around the world.
March kept us busy trying to make more stock for the new shop and as Afflecks was staying open we also decided to extend and decorate the whole of our Afflecks store. We turned Afflecks into a SALE SHOP while we did all the work and had all our new designs at the Bespoke Boutique.
By April we were getting pretty tired and we both got sick in the cold damp weather. But we kept on trucking and making new lovely dresses for our new gorgeous girly section in Afflecks. But the problem about working constantly is that you never seem to get better and we had to have a long look at everything and we had to admit that we're only human after all...
So we're sad to announce that we've decided to CLOSE the Bespoke Boutique on Lever Street. It's very sad as it's a lovely little shop but we just can't find any more hours in the day to make enough clothes to fill both shops. Closing the Bespoke Boutique means that we can concentrate on our new lovely Afflecks shop, our Manchester Fashion Market stall and our wholesale and website sales, publicity and promotion (yes, there's still heaps to do!).
If you've not been to the Bespoke Boutique - get yourself down there before it closes - LAST DAY is Saturday 17th May!
NEW NEWSWe've just sent out some new Me&Yu goodies to Noel Fielding and Russell Brand. Keep an eye out for them on telly and in the papers and let us know if you see them wearing our stuff.....
Our friends Modernaire have just announced that they are touring with the Ting Tings - if you're lucky enough to have a ticket make sure you give them a cheer from us!
We're just starting to design our new (Autumn Winter 08/09) collection - we're hoping to have it finished by July so we can get it photographed before we release it in August / September. In the meantime we're creating a new mid-season menswear collection which will be previewed this weekend at Manchester Fashion Market.
New womenswear designs are on the website and we've also created a NEW ONLINE BLOG which means you can post comments!!
